Houston Parks and Recreation Department’s Junior Golf Program became home to The First Tee of Houston at F.M. Law Park when the Houston Parks Board, Inc. was awarded its Chapter license in October 1999. The First Tee of Houston at F.M. Law Park provides a place where youth not only learn to play golf, but also learn invaluable life skills. The First Tee's research has proven that our participants are learning and using life skills such as goal setting, interpersonal communication, self-management and resistance skills in their daily lives.
The First Tee Life Skills Experience
Through The First Tee Life Skills Experience, The First Tee of Houston at F.M. Law Park teaches participants the importance of maintaining a positive attitude, making decisions, setting goals and transferring values such as responsibility, honesty, and respect from the golf course to everyday life. Participants progress through The First Tee certification levels of PLAYer, Par, Birdie, Eagle, and Ace while being introduced to different golf and life skills.
Membership
Programming is available to any child 7-18 years of age. Participants join the program when they register for a PLAYer class, the first level of The First Tee Program. Members enjoy many benefits, including access to our facilities.
Amenities
Lighted 80-station driving range, short game area, putting green and chipping green, indoor learning center, 2500 square foot outdoor pavilion. New short game tee line is currently under construction.
